Yoga Instruction

As a certified master teacher for 20 years in both Vinyasa Flow Yoga and Kundalini Yoga, my instruction is taught according to physical, mental, and spiritual needs. By asking what your desires and hopes are from doing yoga, we will be able to customize programs suited uniquely for your body type, physical capabilities, and physical challenges or differences, as well as moving you toward your fitness goals.

Yoga is for Every *Body*

The greatest thing about yoga is that it doesn’t matter if you’re a novice or have done hundreds of classes, it will always deliver something to your mind, body, or spirit! I became passionate about yoga over 20 years ago, and my life has changed profoundly in the areas of connecting with myself, developing more physical stamina and strength, and creating more trust and emotional resiliency. My hope for you is to grow that connection with yourself while learning to love all that you are from the inside out as your body transforms.

Judgement Free Zone

Trying something new and different can be challenging at first, but once you open your heart, body and mind you will not be disappointed. I’ve never heard a person say, “Geez, I wish I didn’t do this yoga class.” Just show up and let yourself go! No need to compare, no judgement, all ages, sizes, skill levels, and shapes are welcome. I will work with you at your own pace to help you reach your fitness goals.

Each type of yoga class is either private (one on one), or semi-private (a small group of people). I prefer to teach in this manner in order to support and personally guide each individual. This way I can adjust and watch you carefully to be sure each pose and exercise is done with proper form and to the best of your ability on that given day.

I am available in person at my studio in San Dimas, and for those clients who prefer the convenience of working via their home, I provide individual or group classes via Zoom.

What is Vinyasa Flow?

This style of yoga uses the physical body in a series of movements linked with breath. Creating a natural energy flow within the body, mind, and breath, ending in a peaceful relaxed state.

Each session will be specifically designed according to your body’s needs and work in a synchronized balanced way to open the body, strengthen and stretch muscles, ligaments and  tendons. In yoga, there’s a saying that “you are only as young as the flexibility of your spine.” I design my classes to teach you how to move with your spine gently, and within your capabilities.

I have worked with countless clients over the years who have rigidity due to previous injuries, such spine and disc injuries, arthritis, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, neck injuries, limited mobility, rotator cuff injuries, knee, hip and back injuries, and other mobility issues. The nature and skill level of the class is entirely up to you, from vigorous to restorative or deeply relaxing. It’s all about having fun, without judgment, being thoughtful and patient with your own body without risking injury.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

This style of yoga has been scientifically proven (research link in footer below)  to help the physical body connect the energy systems, such as blood flow and the central nervous system, within the internal subtle body, such as the chakra system (see blog to learn more)

My individual or group classes use yoga poses, meditations, chants, hand postures, or a combination of all. This will allow you to move more deeply and mindfully in creating brain and body connections for optimal health.

Each class has a specific goal, whether cleansing, releasing, breaking patterns, balancing mental chatter, energizing, calming, or starting or ending your day feeling more refreshed, focused, peaceful and balanced. This style of yoga will assist you in finding the keys to what your body, mind, and spirit are trying to teach you. Consistently showing up are the best gifts you can give yourself in kundalini yoga. The more you repeat a specific class or meditation, the more you will begin to see and feel its benefits. See what other clients have to say here.
