Personal Training

As a Certified Personal Trainer for over 25 years, my training is designed for healing the physical body through strengthening, lengthening movements and exercises, stretching, balancing, and cardiovascular endurance.

 Helping you with your Goals

If you have a particular fitness goal in mind, or an upcoming event such as a wedding, graduation or high school reunion, or aging or health concerns, a need for development in sports specific activities, weight loss goals, or you are recovering from an injury or surgery, even if you are in a cast, walker, scooter or knee brace, I can help you. I will work side by side with you as you gain the confidence and knowledge moving toward your specific goals.

Safe Support for Clients with Physical Challenges or Mobility Issues

I know it can be very challenging to find motivation if you are in pain, have been sedentary, are carrying weight that your doctor says is unhealthy, or are struggling with depression, or dislike exercise. With gentle but focused relentless support, I will assist you in creating a new relationship with your body and exercise. I am committed to every client in developing a program that is fun and not the boring “same ol’ same ol” routine. Exercise can be something that you learn to look forward to, even crave! It’s so much more than a treadmill or a bunch of sit ups, or being a particular size.

Remember, every activity or injury you have had affects your body, this includes your attitude toward your own body and fitness. This mindset and past relationship with exercise impacts not only the present, but affects you throughout your entire life. As a Certified Personal Trainer who is passionate about this field, my professional focus and experience has given me the instruments, skills and awareness to be sure you receive all that your body needs in our work together to create a vital and healthy life.

Respecting Your Time, Energy and Pace

Some of my clients enjoy chatting during their session, others prefer to fully focus without extra chit chat. I am committed to adjusting to your comfort level. I am never offended if a client lets me know that they prefer less talk and more focus on the exercise. I will adjust each session to whatever your comfort level is and let you set the pace with the chatting. This is your time and I want you to get the most out of every session.

I stand in solid support with each and every client I work with. You are welcome to read what other clients have to say about my support here.

Embracing the Aging Process

Additionally, for my more mature “young at heart” clients, aging doesn’t have to be daunting or something to “fight against”, rather I help my older clients work toward embracing and enjoying where they are in this stage of life. In the past two plus decades I have worked with clients who sometimes have a difficult time accepting that their body is changing and aging. They may try to push themselves in the same way they did when they were much younger without realizing that they are injuring themselves in the process. Learning about your body and how it communicates will give you the tools to upgrade your fitness into an ever evolving journey.

While I love encouraging my clients, and am relentless in helping you move forward in your fitness goals one stage at a time, I will not push you to the point of painful injury which will only set you back. However, you will be given workouts designed for where you are physically in order to get you to the next stage. Sometimes we let our ego get the best of us, our mind tells us we are still in our 20s or 30s, even though our bodies are decades older. Our bodies change, every day, and we can learn to enjoy this process. I can help you find that balance of push and let go.

Safe Support for Younger Clients

And, if you are young and ready to take things to the next level, I can get you there safely. When our bodies are still forming or we are in the young adult stage, we tend to do things that will hinder our progress in order to lift “heavier”, or we think we look “wimpy” if we don’t have the heavy weights, or we are weak if we don’t push out that last rep - even when you know your body is done. This can be very dangerous and actually impede progress.

Learning a solid foundation for your particular body at a younger age will save you so many injuries across your lifetime. Believe when I say I was there, I understand, and I know how it feels to want to do more than what our bodies are capable of. Twenty five years ago, prior to my certification, I spent 1,000s of hours training for fitness and bodybuilding shows, and working out like there was nothing else in life. I pushed myself when I knew better, and as a result, I suffered from injuries that could have been less severe or even avoided. I wish I would have had a trainer that taught me about my body's signs and signals at that young age. This is why I am dedicated to supporting my clients with a safe but progressive exercise program.
